but when I tune in to this series, I want saucy, good times and this one took way too long to get there. The dual narration was spectacular as always, and the book was okay. Barbarians Prize (Ice Planet Barbarians) PAPERBACK, 2023 by Ruby Dixon Item Weight. I preferred book 6’s story because, although it deals with the heavy topic of abuse, there is a lot more fun and friction (with Haeden horrified to resonate to talkative Josie) to balance the heavy stuff with light. But, for me, the way Tiffany copes, although respectfully written, did not make for a fun, erotic listen. It’s true women deal with sexual trauma in very different ways. This book 5 and the next book 6 (Josie and Haeden’s story) both deal with human women moving past rape and finding a path forward with hunky blue suede devils on ice planet Not Hoth. I prefer the books that emphasize fast fun, action and hot nooky over the books that fall more on slow, sweet, and overcoming-obstacles side of romance. You should start with Book 1, but after that, you don’t lose too much taking some out of order, or skipping an occasional book entirely if the plot isn’t quite your speed. Having now heard all the IPB books on Audible, I heartily recommend the series for campy, naughty alien romance. Tiffany friend zones Salukh for a looong time
